Ode to Soccer
The green turfs beckon me thus
Yet the bonds of education yield not
Flee from this temtation I must
For an exam on tuesday is what I've got
The thirst for adrenaline I desire to sate
With the sun on my back and the wind on my face
To feel the thrill of a rising heart rate
Swiftly as my feet bear me with imacculate grace
Yet if 'ere so unfortunate as myself to injure
Who else should shoulder the blame?
This exam period in anguish to endure
Feeling sorry wouldnt suffice -for I'd be quite lame
Thus, to my academia I retire to
A heart heavy with with reluctance and hesitation
Declining soccer on sunday is hard to do
But I will do it.. cos I'd rather that THAN APPLY FOR SPECIAL CONSIDERATION
