Pronounced: Molōn labe! (Greek)
Meaning "Come and get them!" or in modern English context "Over my dead body!"
Context: The battle of Thermopylae where the Persian king Xerxes with vastly superior forces, asked the Spartan king Leonidas with 300 Spartan warriors to surrender their weapons and in return, spare their lives.. Μολὼν λαβέ! was the greek response.. Defiance, steely resolution and courage in the face of adversity.. a good character trait to inculcate.. no surrender even in the face of adversity..
.. give up in the face of a tough challenge? Μολὼν λαβέ!!!!!
