Q9 Answer all 3 parts a),b) and c) (30marks)
At death, the muscles of the body become very stiff and inextensible, and the corpse is said to go into rigor or 'rigor mortis'. With the aid of labeled diagrams(where nescessary)
a) explain the basis of rigor. Where in the contraction cycle is the muscle arrested? why?
b) Would you be likely to go into rigor faster if you were to die running to class or while sitting at lecture? Explain your answer.
c) Wat effect would the addition of ATP have on muscles in rigor?
I think I'll drop physiology next semester.. as you can see, going to physiology lecture at 9am has severe pathogenic effects- and often lethal
